IT risk assessment should be the foundation of your IT security

and take smarter proactive measures. A variety of security tools

will help you during this process. One popular tool is Nmap.

Complete the steps below to complete this assignment.

1. Download Nmap to your local system (Windows recommended. Go to: www.nmap.org/select download/

Nmap. An icon should appear on your desktop.

scan

below. The

scan

may

take

a

few

minutes

to

complete. Therefore, it

is

recommended

that

you

work

on

this assignment

in advance.

4. Repeat the process for each DNS (See example below)

>nmap –v –A www.tcczewt.com > c:\test\tcczewt.charlesdesassure.txt

(or your path). Note: Your file path may be different. Make sure you

know where the output fill will appear.

5. Scan the DNS.

6. Send the Nmap scan output to a text file.

7. Paste the text file content into an MS Word document.

8. Save the document with the DNS name + your first + last name.

9. Add the line number in the word document for each output.

10. Add a cover sheet and page number to the word document at the bottom of the page.

11. Gather all of the output files, and your MS Word document, and zip into a folder with the name DNS_yourname. If you are not

clear, please email me in advance. Do not assume!!!!

12. Upload the zip file to Blackboard.
