Directions: For this assignment, you will answer a series of questions designed to help you find and plan your purpose. These questions are broken into an Academic Plan, a Spiritual Plan, and a Career Plan. Please respond to each of the questions directly on this document (the boxes will expand as needed) and then answer the two reflection questions at the end of the document.

Academic Plan

To help you get the most out of your GCU experience, GCU offers support, services, and resources that enhance your academic pursuits. Find your major and program on the following website https://www.gcu.edu/degree-programs and complete the table below:

In which program of study are you enrolled, or plan to enroll?

I am currently enrolled in the program Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

What are some of the program core courses you are looking forward to taking and why?

I am looking forward to taking all the program’s core classes. The courses that most catch my attention are those related to accounting. For example, BUS-340 Ethical and Legal Issues Business, Acc-370-371 Intermediate Accounting I and II. Since I have a passion for Business and Finance, I believe accounting will give me the foundation to succeed in business.

Which courses do you anticipate being the most challenging? Explain why.

I believe one of the most challenging courses will be BUS-340 Ethical and Legal Business. Although I am not familiar with the class, it refers to all the ethical laws and social responsibilities of business. I consider that it is one of the most important classes that must be paid attention to, since much of being an accountant entails responsibility and honesty so that the employer trusts that an excellent job will be done, always respecting the laws.

Spiritual Plan

GCU is committed to integrating faith across all aspects of the GCU community. This stems from GCU’s mission to educate students from a Christian perspective and to prepare them for careers that honor God while serving others. Read about GCU's "One Foundation," including the "Ethical Positions Statement" and "Doctrinal Statement," and watch the video "One Foundation: Integration of Faith, Learning, and Work" located at https://www.gcu.edu/why-gcu/christian-identity-and-mission.

What did you take away from the readings and video? How can you apply this to your experience while at GCU? (50-100 words)

GCU offers students to find their purpose and express their point of view by developing Christian world view. It provides an opportunity to build students' faith and develop it in class. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people helps balance school with spirituality. Making room for faith can help me fight burnout. Sharing my ideas and opinions with school members will also help me focus on my academic goals and faith.

What does service outside of the classroom mean to you? How can you apply service while at GCU? (50-100 words)

Service outside the classroom is the selfless act of helping society without expecting anything in return. It means dedicating time, skills, and resources to helping others in need. It involves being initiative-taking in the community and having a positive impact on the world. There are diverse ways to offer service during my time at GCU. I can volunteer for community service projects. I can also join clubs and organizations that focus on volunteer work. By joining the community church, I can help provide food to the homeless and unable to get food.

Career Plan

Grand Canyon University offers several career tools to help you discover potential career paths, build a resume, search for employment, and more. Take a few minutes to complete the five Self-Assessment activities (Work Interest, Personality, Leisure, Values, Skills) on the GCU Career Compass website located at https://www.focus2career.com/Portal/Register.cfm?SID=810 (Access Code: Purpose).

You can watch the video below to assist you with the registration process: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnvvHOt5LvE8yBMYeHV4mGPW88Q86ftmw.

Even if you have completed an assessment such as this in the past, it is good to reassess yourself every so often to reevaluate your goals, focus, and direction based on your growth.

After you complete the survey, fill in the following table.

Research the details of your Self Assessment results, and then list and describe at least three job descriptions.

1. Accounting: The process of recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions.

2.Business Administration Management : Administration of a commercial enterprise. Includes all aspects of overseeing and supervising the business operations of an organization.

3.Finance: Refers to the management of money. Explore topic like financial, banking, and investing.

Based on your results, what surprises did you find? If there are none, explain why. (100-150 words)

There were no surprises. After completing my evaluation, all the works were related and associated with the field of study I have chosen. Many of the jobs suit my skills and personality. I have always had an interest in these subjects since long before I started college. I chose a field of study that will bring me the satisfaction I want in my chosen profession. I have always had great admiration for the business world. Knowing how it works and how a company is successful arouses great interest in me. Keeping accounts helps to understand the financial transactions of how the economy works within a company.

After completing your current program/degree, what is your plan? (Grad school, internship, career plan, etc.)

After completing my degree my next goal is to obtain the CPA license and be able to create my own company to provide auditing and accounting services to individuals, organizations, and companies.
