Discussion 1

Using the Medicare Nursing Home Compare website, research one nursing home that displays a low level of quality as indicated by their Five Star Rating*

· The nursing home should display a low level of quality (-2 star rating)

· The nursing home should display a low level of safety

After thoroughly researching your nursing home on the Medicare Nursing Home Compare website, discuss their quality performance and life safety indicators. What types of deficiencies did this nursing home receive in its most recent survey? Discuss the scope and severity of these deficiencies. What would you do to correct some of these problems?

This is an opportunity for you to explore the practical application of quality research in healthcare. I encourage you to respond in the first person, share personal experiences, and ask questions to further develop your understanding of quality performance and value in healthcare.
