Overview
For this assignment, you will develop a public health policy and advocacy strategy aligned with your stated career goals and present your strategy in a white paper.
Using your selected area of interest, consider the following:
· How do you hope to raise public and community awareness about an issue important to you in your career?
· Which public health policies might affect a proposal you would like to advance?
· Are there advocacy groups you could partner with for your program?
· Are there groups you would want to avoid? If so, why?

Gather Your Data
· Find a policy or policies that address your selected issue.
· Locate public health data related to your issue.
· Revisit the history of public health policy development, practices, and theories so you remember to ground your ideas in the context of public health.
Structure Your White Paper
· Consider your work environment or a public health organization with whom you may want to work. Address that audience.
· Find examples of public health white papers to help you structure your white paper.
