quote analysis
I found a quote from the passage of Minimum wage at page 23(PDF). “In bourgeois
society, therefore, the past dominates the present; in Communist society, the present dominates
the past.” the reason why I found this quote is this sentence is really hard to understand when I
first read this, after that. I read multiple times, I kind of understand what this sentence means.
from my standpoint, the past not just means the past, deeply, the “past” means the machine,
factory and the technologies. The “present” means workers or proletariat. During that time
bourgeois have the factory or machine, so workers have to sell their manpower. “the past
dominates the present” also means bourgeois dominates proletariat. During the Communist
society, proletariat don’t need bourgeois’s factory or technology. Which means bourgeois
society disappear. “the present dominates the past” means proletariat dominates bourgeois.
This kind of like right now in China, workers have the technology not just the capitalist.
