Question 1 (50 points)
Your final exam questions are part of your college Embedded Assessment, which is meant to measure how your college is doing in the teaching of this material, which is why the questions are a little different than usual.
1). Explain how one text from our syllabus can teach the reader about the time, place, and culture of its creation.
2). Explain how at least one text from our syllabus, regardless of when or where it was written, can inform the reader's stance regarding issues of race, gender, and culture from the reader's own time and place.
3). Explain how at least one formal characteristic (symbol, setting, imagery, tone, etc.) of one text from our syllabus helps the author express a specific theme from the text.
A Guidelines (100-90 points):
· Discuss at least 3 different readings. One reading should be from Module 4. Quote at least 3 times from assigned readings.
· Quotations will be introduced and explained, using the Oreo Cookie method as discussed here: Quoting Effectively When Writing about Literature .
· A full credit answer will be grammatically sound
· Answers that look like text messages (no capital letters, missing punctuation, etc.) will receive no credit.
· Answers should be a minimum of 350 words (that's total, not each question).
Also please note that it is possible to answer all 3 of these questions in a single response; conversely, it is also fine to answer each question individually.
