INSTRUCTIONS
In order to ensure correct information is kept on all employees, it is incumbent on the HR team to ensure that they have a system in place that is capable of updating, retrieving, tracking and storing employees’ information. Access to such a system must be granted on a need to know basis. With this in mind, please review the system specifications below and design a fully functional HRIS. This can be done using whichever application you deem fit. Please send an email to your lecturer indicating the tool or software that you will be using to complete this project.
1. Provide screenshots of the different screens from the design phase and give details on how each aspect of the system functions.
2. Please provide a brief description of each step in the System Development Life Cycle and describe how your team approached each phase.
3. List and explain the benefits that the following users of the system will have.
a. Managers/Supervisors
b. Line Staff
c. HR Team
4. List and Explain the different types of reports that managers will be able to generate from the system, provide three specimen reports and explain how each of the forms will aid management in the decision making process.
5. With consideration given to the ethics of database management and HR systems, discuss three (3) issues that may arise from the use of this system. Expound on ethical issues as it relates to users and end users of the system.
6. Discuss the privacy and security issues that may arise with the use of this system and provide three (3) solutions that could be used to overcome these issues. Please be sure to tie the solution back to the benefits for the company, the employee and the integrity of the information being stored.
7. System must be designed with creativity and ease of use in mind.
8. Please be guided by the 7th edition of the APA guidelines (see slides and video on Moodle)
9. Each group will be required to demonstrate the functionality of their system and asked to generate two to three reports.
