1 .How do you have your classroom arranged? Mrs, Smith said they have groups with six students per group. Teacher's desk in front of class. Smart board came down from the ceiling in the middle. They also had a black board. 2 book shelf on the right side by the window. A closet where games and other items were kept. 4 Computers set up on the right-hand side of the classroom. The classroom is arranged this way because it was easy to manage the children with the flow of the classroom scheduling. Like the activities and it kept the kids away from the door because of safety reasons.

2.What do you do on the very first day of school to set the tone for the school year?

I stand at my door with a class roster meet every child and parent. We then bring my students and present them with a welcoming package. Once the bells rings, we discuss what is expected of them, we then conduct a get to know me session. They get to know us and we get to know them.

3.What routines do you use in your class that help students know how to do things?

She said they use to do a behavior chart. Administration did away with that process. When asked the question of why she could not answer the question. But she did state it worked. She said the children liked to stay at the top of the chart because they hated to see their names at the bottom of the list. If they stayed at the top they were rewarded. She stated that administration said it was a system that would degrade or single out other students because they could not reach the top. She feels like he wanted them to reward the problem students as well.

4.How do you motivate students? She stated she really did not have to motivate her students because they were great students. However, she did state that she would not allow them out for recess, then other times allow them to go out and have them read a book while the other students played.

a. What do you do that works? I have an educational bingo game as well as a flash card game where they have to act out who this person is as related to our studies. The kids really enjoyed it because of the interacting with each other. She stated that in all the years of teaching she found that interacting with funny videos before class can both inspire students and help them to get a better understand about learning.

5. How do you communicate with families and build relationships with parents? She stated she would send an email, then contact parents on the phone. She stated she did not often time get any feedback to build a relationship with some of them. She said over the years she found that implementing stickers and what she calls her goodwill process. That involved sending home little rewards bags and happy grams that also motivated some of the parents to push the children.

a. How do you deliver bad news? She stated after she try to contact parents, she would then send a referral and let administration deal with those parents and student from there. Those are the rules of her administration.

6. How much flexibility is allowed in your classroom? The students are allowed to work together on somethings for limited movements in class. If they have an emergency of sickness. She gets their work together work with parents to make sure they do not fall behind she said she is very flexible in that area.

7.With so many different behaviors and attitudes you as an educator how do you deal with this.? She says she calls them to the desk to try and figure out the problem. If they want to talk, she does if not she allows them to go take a seat put their head down for a fifteen-minute minutes grace period.

8. As an educator you are like a second parent. How do you extend your patience in the classroom? She smiles and states I have to take 5 minutes for myself then she stated I have three children and every one of her children have different needs. She tries to adapt her learning to meet every child needs. Example does this one need more hugs than the other or does he or she prefer personal space.
