Lab report of an unknown
BIOL 2420 UNKNOWN REPORT STUDENT ‘S NAME: -------------------------
UNKNOWN NUMBER --------- GENUS AND SPECIES OF UNKNOWN: --------------
Objective:
Materials and Methods: Stains and biochemical tests were used to identify microorganism. Procedures from lab manual, and instructor’s power points were followed.
Stock cultures were kept of the organism. Periodic subculture was performed to keep the culture fresh.
TEST RESULTS: STAINS
**Source: specify the culture used to perform the stain: NA plate, or NB broth.

CONCLUSSION
BACTERIA UNKNOWN GROUP:
Based on gram reaction results your bacteria unknown should be one of the following:
1.- Gram positive cocci, 2.- gram positive rod, or 3.- gram negative rod:
LIST ALL THE BACTERIA WITHIN YOUR UNKNOWN GROUP, AND SHOW HOW EACH OF THE ORGANISMS IN THE GROUP WERE ELIMINATED BASED ON THREE TEST RESULTS.:

Use this page to explain any problems you may have encountered while trying to identify your unknown. Give dates, and detailed description of the problems.
Once you have correctly identified your organism, think about what you would do differently if you had to do it again. Use this page to make a flow chart to outline a quick and efficient process to identify your organism. The chart should not include unnecessary tests. It should include all the tests needed to eliminate any other possible organism from the list of possible unknowns.

Notes:
(this two pictures are based on my lab report results that i got in lab for this report. Which shows that my unknown bacteria is proteus vulgaris.)
Also for the reference i got my SIM WHERE S= h2s production , I= indole production (+ve) and M= motility = +ve(POSITIVE)
Nitrate broth = red( present of no2)
