In some cases, the search results page might include links to the full text, if it is available through another database. Other documents could be available for free online.
The Full-Text Options pane on the left of the page details two ways to find full-text resources in the University Library:
You can find full-text resources in the Library on the Articles or Peer-Reviewed/Scholarly pages. These resources are configured to show only those documents that are immediately available online and often provide the most convenient results for basic course assignments.
If you are conducting advanced research and need access to documents identified in the search results, but are not available online, the University Library might be able to obtain copies of these documents via a document delivery service. This process generally takes about one business day, but some documents might take longer to be transferred, depending on how they are obtained. Delivery within a specific timeframe cannot be guaranteed. You can find the document delivery form by clicking the Request a Specific Document link under the Library Services menu on the University Library's Home page.

Chapter 6 Working with Databases
The Databases A-Z tab lets you search various databases to find information that can help you with your learning. Click the Databases A-Z tab and you’ll see the items described in the following subsections.
Search Field
Use the Search for Databases field to search all of the databases included in the University Library. If you don’t know the name of a database, you can scroll through the listing at the bottom of this page and a select a database that way. But, if you know the name of a database or know at least one name in the database’s title, type it into the search field and then click Go, as shown in Figure 32:
Figure 32. Databases Search Field
Note: If you use a keyword that is not included in the title of any databases for this library, you’ll see this message: 0 databases found for [Keyword]. Additionally, you might notice that this search area includes a number of databases that differs from the number shown if you click the All link that is part of the alphanumeric listing below the filter fields. The University has notified the vendor who supplies the databases of this discrepancy and they have indicated that this is a known bug. However, as of this time, no date for when the vendor will fix this bug has been supplied.
Filters
Use the filters supplied by the University Library to find specific information. When you click the Databases A-Z tab, the filters shown in Figure 33 always appear:
Figure 33. Database Filters
Each filter defaults to All, but you can click the drop-down menu arrow for any of these filter menus and select a specific option. Let’s say that you select these filter options:
Business for the Database Subject Filter
Media for the Database Types Filter
ProQuest for the Database Vendors Filter
Immediately below the filters, the All row highlights the first letter of the database(s) that contain the information you requested and a message appears, stating how many databases contain this information. The database(s) appear by name below the message, along with a brief description, as shown in Figure 34:

Tip: To clear the filters you selected, click the Clear Filters/Browse All Databases button that appears to the right of the message that shows how many databases contain the requested information.
If you look to the right of the filter information that appears below the filters, you’ll find a listing of guides that correlate to the information you filtered. For this example, because we used Business as the Database Subject Filter, the following list of Business Guides would appear:
Figure 35. Business Guides
Had we selected Education as the Database Subject Filter, a list of Education Guides would have appeared. Each database is associated with a list of guides.
Tip: If you keep the filters set to their default All settings, a listing of each University Library database is displayed on this page, along with a brief description of the information house in each database. Click the database name to open a page in a new window. From this page, you can perform various type of searches to find or narrow the information you’re looking for.

Access Key
On the right side of the Databases A-Z page, you’ll find this Access Key:
Figure 36. Access Key
This Access Key lists the icons that appear to the right of each database name. These icons help you identify the types of information included in the database(s). Sticking with the example filters of Business, Media, and ProQuest, Figure 37 shows the associated keys:
Figure 37. Access Key – Example Icons
These icons indicate that the Culturegrams database includes information in the form of Statistics & Datasets, Multimedia, and Reports.
Database Listing
When you click the Database A-Z tab and leave the filters set to their default settings, all databases included in the University Library appear on the page. Each database includes a brief description of what it contains, along with the associated Access Key icons. When you click the database name, a new page opens with additional search tools being made available for that database.
