Project Management Steps

A task is a single action with accomplishment in one stage. For instance, returning lost animals(pets) to their owners is a single action and similarly to check if all the employees came to work is a task repeated every other day but it’s still an action. These instances are examples of a task. On the other end, a project is often proceeding in several stages, to give a specific output at each stage which will lead to one desired output. Projects vary from one organization depending on the complexity of but typically a project is not repeated after it has been finished.

Step 1: Project initiation and conception

In this stage, the main objective of the project is identified. Then preliminary research on project feasibility is done. For instance, the organization wants to rescue as many animals as possible; hence to achieve this, the organization will open up other branches where and all will have one headquarter. Also, the organization needs to have many people who can donate funds to make them financially stable. Hence the company should come with a bank account number where people can donate online and also run some events where people will gather and contribute. Lastly, the company wants to increase the number of adoptions for their animals; thus, the best thing to do is to plan a day where they will hold an event for adoption and bring their animals along.

Step 2: Project Planning

In this stage, it is where every detail of the plan from beginning to end is laid out. The project scope is about ensuring the company is financially sustainable, maintaining cost, and increasing numbers of adoption. The project will take around two weeks and it will cost around $1000. Hence, first of all, the team will be built, then every member of the group will be given their responsibilities. The team will be meeting every day at 5 pm to discuss their milestones. Besides, the team will use phones to get information from other members. However, there will be some risks that may occur during the implementation of the project.

Step 3: Project execution

In this stage, the team is executing its tasks and roles. Thus, in this stage, the budget, time, and risks will be managed. Besides here is where operations reliability will be improved. For the organization to survive in this competitive world, it should come up with projects that can help them to have an advantageous position. However, for this organization, the main reason why it should undertake this project is to ensure financial sustainability, improve the quality of services, and grow. Therefore, this project through the formation of a high-performance team, focusing on research and development, and lastly, investing in tools that can help employees to be more productive, this project can meet the needs of the organization.

Step 4: Project Monitoring & Control

This is where everything is ensured that is running smoothly and are according to the plan. Hence as a project monitoring and control phase budgets, timelines, project goals, team performance and quality of deliverables are as planned (Morton, 2021). Besides, after implementing the project, the organization should find a way of measuring its benefits. therefore, when implementing a project management system, the organization can spend time upfront assessing the current practices and capabilities that will result in numerous benefits. besides the organization can compare the positive results to date with empirical data.

Step 5: Project closure

When the project is complete, everyone is always happy because of their work and the change the project has brought. Hence the project should be closed after a celebration (Morton, 2021).
