Here are the 9 steps of a Problem/Solution Proposal.  After reading the essay, write a brief 9 step response paper indicating which parts of Swift's essay fit with each step.  There may be more than one answer for some of the steps. In that case, list all of the examples from the essay that apply.

1. Brief identification of the problem (social, political, environmental, etc.) and the solution (in a word or phrase).

2. An in-depth analysis of the problem.

3. An in-depth explanation of what the solution is and how it will be implemented.

4. Identification of the Opposing Viewpoint to the Solution proposed.

5. Counterargument for the Solution proposed.

6. Brief discussion of an Alternative Solution, i.e. a solution that the author does NOT endorse, but that others have proposed.

7. Counterargument asserting the superiority of the author's solution.

8. Resolution (Big Picture Connection; Precedent;Public Resonance)

9. Conclusion
