GB502 Week 5 Discussion
Unit 5: Economic Development of Major Energy Producing Countries
Introduction
This unit, we will dive into energy in SSA. The region is well known for its lack of access to affordable and modern forms of commercial energy. Millions of people in SSA, especially those living in mostly rural areas, do not have access to electricity.
We will research the energy resources available to the SSA region to better understand the strategies used by SSA countries to be energy sufficient. We will assess how the SSA region is threatened by a confluence of energy challenges and prospects, as they are directly applicable to European Union and U.S. foreign policies and economic interests.
Unit Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of the unit, the learner will be able to:
1. Report major natural resources of the region (CLO 3)
2. Analyze the economic development of major energy producing countries (CLO 2)
