Should assisted suicide be legal for everyone?

· Identify and define terms related to assisted suicide.

· Evaluate the role of the political climate in discussions about assisted suicide

· Consider how the goals of end-of-life care may contrast when considering personal versus societal perspectives

1. Identify if and where there is common ground between the two journalists.

2. In some countries, active euthanasia is legal if an individual is deemed to have “unbearable psychological suffering.” Do you think this should be true in the United States as well? Who should determine if the person’s suffering is unbearable?

3. How is the “right to die” related to a new social movement-the “right to live”? How do these phrases impact our thinking about the life span?
