Assumes you will behave and speak kindly and patiently with all learners Ephesians 4:23-24, 31-32 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy…. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Assumes you are willing to learn and study Proverbs is full of admonition to study and gain wisdom

Proverbs 9:9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

Proverbs 18:15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.

Assumes you desire to teach the student, not the content – have a heart for the student Realizing that every student is uniquely made in the image of God and loved by God
