Visual Communication - Write a set of instructions using YouTube

1  Does the title (name of the project) accurately inform readers of the goal of the instructions and the task that following the instructions will accomplish?

2  Do the Instructions “stand alone”?  In other words, is all the information needed, included? Will readers have to look outside of the instructions to complete their understanding?

3  Is there any unnecessary information? Are there any steps that might be considered obvious, and should be omitted?

4  Is each task divided into simple steps and substeps that allow readers to focus on one task at a time?

5  Are the steps logically ordered? Are any of them out of order?  Could the order be improved upon?

6  Are there informative headings that inform readers what to expect; emphasize what is most important; provide cues for navigation?

7  Are the steps numbered?

8  Are there any warning, caution, or danger notices?  Are they delivered before the potential for incident?

9  Do readers know what they will need in order to successfully accomplish the task, before they get started?

10  Do readers know what the final product/effect outcome is supposed to be?

11  Is there any troubleshooting assistance provided for readers?  Should there be?
