1. Secondary data provides a synthesis or analysis of the information. With secondary data, sources are collected by someone else other than the researcher. As a researcher, secondary data can be used to directly find the research you need and using secondary data can be more efficient as well for researchers. For example, using the Kean Databases would be a secondary data. It is readily available and you will be able find the facts and answers you need for your research. Also, using secondary data you can get a various amount of articles with a lot of information, so that could help a researcher narrow down his/or her research.

2. Secondary data is defined as data that can not be traced back to the level of individual cases of statical units. It does not allow mathematical calculations like primary data would allow. There are two types of secondary data internal and external data. Internal data is data that was stored and kept by the specific organization itself. External data is data on a specific company gathered and analyzed by a specific individual. 1930 Chicago census record is an example of secondary data. Using available information not only saves time and money but can also add depth to a study. Sociologists often interpret findings in a new way, a way that was not part of an author's original purpose or intention. Another point of secondary data for this class specifically could be Kean Databases. This is because the research is collected by someone else besides the researcher themselves. It is important to use secondary data when writing a paper to help yourself get a broader idea of the topic and help push you into narrower research to find the exact answer you need. Other basic examples used in research papers are textbooks, magazine articles, and book reviews.

3. Secondary data deals with analyzing data collected by someone else. It basically provides a synthesis or analysis of information. Researchers can benefit from secondary data in various ways. It is a good foundation to examine a different perspective on the original question of a previous study. Secondary sources could be books, newspaper, personal sources, journals, government records, etc. It is very easy to access. If an individual has little information and/or knowledge on an specific topic, these secondary resources would be helpful. There are so many published sources that allows an individual to gather a better understanding of whatever he/she is researching. Oftentimes, researchers rely on secondary data because it basically contains previous studies that could be helpful to their current research. When conducting research, peer-reviewed articles are major key. Most universities offer these databases in their online websites. Kean has a really good source where one can access database on whatever topic students are working on. It includes books, peer reviewed articles, fiction, non fiction, full text, etc. Kean library is easily accessible and it gives you the option to select exactly what you are looking for. For example, if you only want full- text, peer- reviewed articles, you can select it and it narrows down your search.

4. Secondary data is the data that has already been collected through primary sources and made readily available for researchers to use for their own research. In other words, secondary data provides a synthesis or analysis of the information  for. Also, secondary data sources are collected by someone else other than the researcher. Further,  there are two types of secondary data: internal and external data. Internal secondary data is found inside your organization, while external secondary data is information collected and stored by some person or organization outside of your organization. Many researchers use secondary data sources because they are very useful and easily accessible for people to find data on research. Two great examples of secondary data are Kean Database and Google Scholar. They both provide great secondary data that many students can use when they are doing research. Kean Database and Google Scholar are secondary data because they provide information collected from someone else.

5. Secondary data provides an analysis of information and its basically reasearch done by someone else. With secondary data, sources are collected by someone else other than the researcher. For the researcher, secondary data can be used to directly find the research they need. For example, using the Kean Databases or Google Scholars would be a secondary data. A person can find facts and answers to there research as there are so many sources/articles to find within those databases. Also, by using all the sources a person can narrow down what exactly they are looking for. For example, with my topic being hot spots policing as discussed in class and shown an example of finding articles i was able to narrow my topic more down because i was able to see what works and what doesn't when i settle on a specific topic regarding to hot spot policing.
