Selected topic: Challenges facing private security

Private security has become the order of the day in the present times as need for specialized security levels have continued to rise in the society. Companies, estates, firms, plants, industries, and private homes have been in need of security that the government cannot manage to offer in the levels needed. Many people have been trained to offer private security in the best way possible and have been perceived by the society as a way of preventing crime and making the society a better place for all people. However, there are a lot of challenges that have been recently identified as a hindrance to success of private security operation.

The selected topic has been preferred because whenever private security have been applied successful, the company and members of the society tends to benefit as well. This means that the challenges affect the employers, the security staff and the society neighboring the organization or industry. Overall benefits of private security can be realized if only these challenges are identified and resolved amicably. Hence, the topic has been selected for the purpose of developing ways of making private security positively impacting all the stakeholders involved. This is through understanding the field first and developing possible solutions. Moreover, the topic has been selected because the private security field has a way of supporting and complimenting the public security as it also helps in supporting community policing. By researching the topic, it would be a good way to improve the field so that to improve security as a whole.
