Patient is Smith a 23 years old female with female with history off mononucleosis present with acute pharyngitis and associated fever, headache and tender cervical lymphadenopathy. The physical exam reveals a temperature of 101.5F orally, posterior pharyngeal erythema, mild to moderate tonsillar enlargement without uvular deviation, prominent tonsillar excaudate. And tender bilaterally anterior cervical lymphadenopathy without nuchal rigidity or hepatosplenomegaly. She also historically has sick contact room mate who mention a sore throat while this can be a risk factor for the development of differential list. Diagnosed with bacterial pharyngitis caused by direct infection of pharyngeal tissue by group A streptococcus, which trigger an inflammatory response. Patient teaching education done, referral. Consultation and follow up down.
