Introduction

Unemployment has become a global issue today with several capitalistic economies experiencing business cycles characterized by high cases of jobless youths (Albanesi & Şahin, 2018). One of the major cases of unemployment was experienced in the Western countries during the Great Depression and recession period. Considering the debilitating outcomes of unemployment, research has established the high cases of poverty, diseases, ignorance, and suicide among the unemployed populations across the world. However, one of the problems that have been associated with such unemployment studies is the issue selection bias (Apergis & Georgellis, 2018). Regardless of this, the main question that is still unanswered is whether there is a direct correlation between unemployment and poverty, diseases, ignorance and suicide as it has been reported in certain studies. The research conducted by Mesters & Barnichon (2018) among the New Zealand youths revealed that nearly 1.6 million female and males were unemployed and cases of poverty, diseases, ignorance, and suicide were also observed to have been rampant among this population.

Moreover, in order for the researcher to support his findings, the author controlled other socio-economic variables such as income, education, and demographics. This was done with the aim of convincing the audience that there was no confounding or selection bias. The problem of unemployment has attracted several studies and Mesters & Barnichon (2018) also reported the findings of various unemployment data collected from various studies. The researcher did a comprehensive data analysis and the main unemployment independent variable for this study was time-varying covariate though it was not treated like that in the data analysis. However, the researcher realized that failure to observe several cases of unemployment is likely to interfere with the findings either by overestimating or underestimating the outcomes of unemployment (Baley, Ljungqvist & Sargent, 2018). Nonetheless, the most apparent observation in multiples studies done on unemployment is this problem has become a global issue as well as being directly associated with high cases of poverty, diseases, ignorance, and suicide. This research will be very important in collecting and analyzing the unemployment data from various parts of the world to estimate the effects of this problem on the world population.

The main aim of the research will be to understand deeply the problem of unemployment in the studied population.

Research Methodology

The research technique the research intends to use for this research includes interviews, survey questionnaire, which will the main method for data collection in this study.

Data collection method

The data collection for this study will be reviewing studies. Structured and random sampling will be mainly relied on to help collect data by using the survey.

Data analysis framework

The research intends to apply a conceptual framework. Such frameworks are structured from theories or ideas to help the research successfully investigate the research problem, adequately frame the research questions and identify appropriate literature for the topic under investigation.

Timescale

The research project will take a total of two weeks where the first week will be set aside for preparation of research objectives, questions, and instruments while the second week will be for the actual research where the researcher goes to the field to collect data.

Conclusion

This paper will survey multiple recent studies conducted to investigate the world unemployment status and the transition of different individuals in the labor market. One of the main challenges that the researcher is likely to face is the issue of comparability among different empirical analysis. However, the current comparability is likely to be less excellent because of uneven coverage among the present unemployment empirical studies. Moreover, the research will further explore the reasons behind high cases of unemployment. Research has shown that this rapid increase of unemployment problem, especially in the developing world, has led to heightening debates and discussions about the reasons behind these persistence cases of unemployment. The assumption The assumption the researcher intends to presents for this study is that this persistence results from reduced or depreciation of human capital that is the outcome of unemployment. Moreover, another assumption the researcher intends to use in the paper is that shortages of capital results from prolonged periods of unemployment characterized by limited investment and how this problem will affect societies. In summary, the unemployment problem presents an economic threat to various countries across the world; therefore, world economists and economic researchers need to invent new strategies that would help mitigate this menace.
