Term Paper Specifications

Term Paper Specifications:

· Minimum length of 8 pages/2000 words not including works cited/bibliography

· Double-spaced

· APA citations

· Uniform, Times New Roman 12pt font

· Use Outline Subheadings [(1)Introduction; (2)Literature Review; (3)Findings/Discussion; (4)Political Significance to Society; (5)Conclusion]

Notes Separated by Section:

Literature Review

· This section should define the critical context and any vocabulary necessary to understanding your topic. It should also introduce the perspectives from your different sources in an overview.

· Absolutely summarize the key takeaways from the source materials.

Findings/Discussion

· Findings: Should contain all of the specific data from the sources.

· Your findings should be further in-depth from the overview and topics introduced in the literature review.

· The discussion should be your commentary on the findings from your sources. It could be completely your point of view/writing, without needing to cite specific sources. However, we can support our points using specific examples from our sources (in that case you should cite).

Key Points to Help:

· The essay has to be in a specific format. In the document titled 'Term Paper Outline', there are bolded sections. These section names must be used in the essay and the section labeled Discussion must be the longest section. The thesis must be strong, precise, and direct. Make sure the essay has sound logic and show explicitly how you get from point A, to point B, to point C.

· Make sure you specifically address student outcomes and how to help students with these issues (i.e., what are the effects and what are some solutions). Make sure that if you use any extra sources, it must be peer reviewed. Also, the discussion section must be the longest part of the essay. The literature review section must be the second longest. It also should be critical and thought provoking.

· You can use the questions to guide your writing, and be sure to read through what is already answered beneath the questions. Do not copy these answers, but consider what's there and use them if appropriate.

· Make a comparison between the sexism performed against black and white WOMEN as well. Include a definition of sexism, too.

· Provide a solution to sexism performed against first generation black females.

· One or more of the sources includes men, but do not incorporate men into the essay as first-generation black females is the topic of discussion.
