Usability Engineering

Assignment 4 - Individual Assignment (25%)

This assignment is due on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 9am

This assignment addresses the research component of this course and

replaces the final exam assessing all learning outcomes and objectives of the

course.

Since the movement of classes from face-to-face to online, we have trialled various

different software packages for Practical sessions. One of the new packages is

Creately, link: creately.com, and the owner has given us permission to test and trial

it this semester. We would like to organise a report for the owner to explain how it

was used, the advantages and disadvantages of working in Creately remotely and

make some recommendations for future enhancements. Finally, we would like you

to perform some usability testing on Creately, and compare it with Trello, Teams

and Collaborate Ultra.

(a) (5 marks) Explain how a group could collaborate in a practical session within

Creately and design one group task to be undertaken by a group of four people.

(b) (5 marks) Compare this with how groups can collaborate within Trello,

Collaborate Ultra and Teams.

(c) (5 marks) Perform the task you have designed in all four systems: Creately,

Trello, Collaborate Ultra and Teams. Explain how you measured whether or not

the task was completed and was successful. Put the results into a table for easy

comparison, see below.

(d) (5 marks) Add two extra rows to the table for advantages and disadvantages of

each system.

(e) (5 marks) rank each system with respect to the other for delivery of practical

sessions in usability engineering.
