This week, you will write a comprehensive APA argumentative-analysis paper using all that you’ve learned about Twentieth Century American drama over the past few weeks in HUM1020. Your Unit 5 essay will respond to the following prompt and meet the requirements outlined below. 

 

Essay Prompt: 

 

· Of the four dramatic works we’ve read in this class, choose one that you feel speaks most loudly to our current contemporary moment and the issues we face as Americans today. Your essay will make the argument that your chosen play depicts a particular theme that you feel is not only the most relevant, but also the most pertinent. In addition to describing the play’s key theme, you will also include an analysis/discussion of no fewer than two dramatic literary elements devices that the playwright uses effectively to underscore/develop the play’s central theme.

Essay Requirements: 

· 1,000 words or roughly four double-spaced pages. 

· Includes a discussion/analysis of no fewer than two dramatic literary elements/devices.

· Be sure to support your response with textual evidence (quotes and citations) from the play itself. 

· Make use of at least three  scholarly sources to support and develop your ideas. Our course text may serve as one of these three sources.

· Your essay should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the READ and ATTEND sections (through Unit 5).
