RE: Internal Proposal for Researching Ubiquitous Designs to Will Help Prevent Problems with People Living In Close Quarters
Date: March 28, 2018
This internal proposal requests authorization to continue researching ubiquitous design to help prevent problems with people living in close quarters.
Summary
Ubiquitous design for people living in close quarters is just what designers and architects need to come up holistic houses that have all the residents need to make their houses comfortable even with the limited spaces. On this note, Ubiquitous design can help with the psychological perception of space since it brings about some of the most important aspects such as the interior design of the house to make everything come in handy. This means that with Ubiquitous design, people living in close quarters can still enjoy living there as they would when living in spacious neighborhoods. If I am given the opportunity, I would use some edge cutting technology and the skills I gained from studying psychology for 3 years an working on my degree an learning about interior design.
Introduction
The ubiquitous design has also been used to make the interior of the houses sleeker, lustrous and benevolent. In a study done by Kuniavsky, (2010), Ubiquitous design in hospitals and other public amenities creates an environment that comes with pro-healing aspects, safer and faster patient recovery contexts. In a similar manner, people living in close quarters without parks or even spaces for recreational activities can also enjoy living in their houses with the design of various structures and spaces within the interior of the house that makes living fun and intriguing.
I am committed to performing this project because the better interior design of buildings can make houses in close quarters safer. Besides that, it utilizes space and packs a wide array of important components within the limited space. With Ubiquitous design, I will be able to create a safe and convenient way through which people living in such quarters can handle disaster (Kidd, Orr, Abowd, Atkeson, Essa, MacIntyre, & Newstetter, 1999).
This proposal will discuss more information on the issues that are related to people living in close quarters as well as solutions. A scope of the problem will be provided with a detailed research and project plan. My qualifications for this proposal will be listed. Lastly, the benefits and the cost of the proposal will be discussed.
Current Situation
Because of limited land and resources, real estate developers have resorted to building high-density condominiums in densely populated areas. Such apartments accommodate a significant number of people within a limited space (Axelrod, Fitzpatrick, Burridge, Mawson, Smith, Rodden, & Ricketts, 2009). However, it is important to note that because of the limited land, people often lack important amenities such as parks.
The hope for people living in such close quarters is interior design methods that foster the use of invention and innovation in the interior design of rooms to bring about better interior design of the houses that make living safe and thrilling to an ultimate degree.
Causal Analysis
Closed space or small places makes people feel uncomfortable. By creating ways to make people feel comfortable in closed places by changing a couple things in the room like moving the furniture against the wall instead of having it sit in the middle of the room.
Available Solutions/Approaches
There are many solutions to overpopulating but however there are two popular solutions. Overpopulation will not come to an end until the average birth rate drops. By reaching the goal of 2 children per house hold we should reach a suitable population. The Next solution is building sky scrapers for work places so it doesn’t take up so much land and space.
Solution 1
Reduce birth rates
Solution 2
Building sky scrapers
Scope
In the recent past, there have been some suggestions about how the challenge of space in close quarters could be mitigated. As opposed to creating of such amenities such as parks, which would make the process costly and cumbersome, this project seeks to address the individual interaction with the environment. Since the creation of parks in such estates might be a perfect solution, it might not be feasible right now. Sometimes, there have to be some significant changes in the design of the rooms, and this includes the changing of the measurements of the individual rooms. However, it is important to note that this might not be the solution to it because there might be the need to change the whole design of the house. While there might be some other options such as creating some handy balconies, it is also important to note that it might not be feasible at the moment because it might need an investment of a significant amount of resources.
Context of Research
The solution of the problem is creating embedded amenities such as dining tables, kitchen cabinets, handy couch spaces, embedded TV racks and interactive walls of various rooms within the house. It is important to note that all of these do not need a complete overhaul of the interior of the quarters.
Project Plan
Study of the interior of the walling of the house: this will enable in-depth analysis of how the various smart spaces can be created at the correct points and with the correct motives.
Task 1:
Accessing safety: this involves accessing the escape options that people have when escaping in case of disasters.
Task 2:
Ubiquitous design: designing the specific amenities
Task 3:
Implementing of the proposed design.

Experience/Qualifications
Due to the experiences of working on a degree and masters in Psychology. While also playing basketball in college I’ve discovered I have Problem solving skills, leadership skills and writing skills.
Problem Solving
I feel like I’ve discovered my problem solving during basketball because everything does not go as plan sometimes the play breaks down an you need to make a play.
Leadership Skills
With me going into my senior year I’ve grown into a natural leader. I lead by example on and off the court by making good grades and working hard.
Writing
Majoring in psychology and playing basketball has taught me how to write under pressure. While managing both I feel like writing has become second nature.
Time Management
Being a student athlete you have to be able to multitask between school and sports. I feel like I’ve done a great job with my time management by being able to finish up school while playing basketball.
Costs and Benefit
The Ubiquitous design shall be beneficial to the corporation owing to the fact that it would help in coming up with a great corporate image. This will instill a certain level of confidence in the general public and customers of the company. After completion, the stakeholders will benefit from the extra charges the residents will have to pay because of the revamped interior of the houses.
