Unit 5 Assignment

Details and Rubric

Applied Research Project — Implement Alternative Solutions View an introduction and summary of this Assignment. Congratulations on arriving at the final steps in your Applied Research Project!

Think all the way back to Unit 1. Do you remember the advice that Creighton Abrams offered when describing how to take on an enormous task? He said, “When eating an elephant, take one bite at a time.” Your task here in Unit 5 is to take that last, big bite. It is always wise to advance several possible solutions, rather than just one. What may seem to be a terrific solution may not be plausible to implement. That is why you will now build upon what you already accomplished in Unit 4 by expanding the logic diagram to include alternative solutions. It is also important to consider both intended and unintended consequences before a solution is implemented. This will help you avoid problems down the road. Refer to the detailed directions and grading rubric for this Assignment as you work on this stage of your applied research project.

The construction and development of your applied research project in GM599 is ongoing. It began in Unit 1

and will continue to expand and improve through Unit 6. Moving forward in each unit, you will be adding new

sub-heading sections to expand the research process. At the same time, you will be responding to comments

and critiques from your professor in order to make improvements to past sections.

Step 1: Prepare by studying the Reading assigned to this unit. Practice specific research concepts by

engaging in unit discussions.

Step 2: Design your applied research project in the following manner. Title Page: Develop a unique title for the paper that captures the essence of the problem that is under investigation. Sub-Heading Sections

 Introduction

 Statement of the Problem

 Intended Audience

 Value to the Audience

 Meta-Analysis Methodology

 Brief Review of the Literature

 Findings and Conclusions, and Ethical Implications

 Implement Alternative Solutions

 Summary
