ACTIVITY 1

The terms we will be looking at are: intuition, reverie, dishevelment, perverse, fertile, sheen, humble, purged, perennial, pilgrimage, exile, blight, maladies, moribund, specter

Using a dictionary, review the definitions of the bolded vocabulary terms. Then read the sentences and substitute a synonym for each bolded academic vocabulary word. (You might need to change the sentence a bit to fit the synonym you use)

She had an intuition which told her that her parents were not safe for sharing such strong, important facts about herself.

Once inside the supermarket, her hands firmly around the handle of the cart, she would lapse into a kind of reverie and wheel toward the produce.
