I plan on using Wal-Mart’s website and a competitor of Wal-Mart website, the library, and course material. I will site, paraphrase, and add content in my own words. I plan on setting down each day and working on my assignments. Some days I will be typing out my work into a word document and some days I will just do research on my topics at hand. I have come up with the plan of having a document that has all my references from each unit put in one paper in alphabetical order to help make the finalization of my IP in unit 5 be easier for me to transform over. Each week I will ad the references into the document to fit in the right order.
I plan to research each topic one at a time to ensure that I identify the correct information to the right topic.
TWO:
I plan on using resources that I find from online and from the class to pursue my project and its research. I plan on doing a little bit a day to help with the mental strain of getting things done on time. I hate to procrastinate and I like to do at least an hour of school work to keep ahead. Once I find the information that I need for the company that I am writing about, then I will add the information in my own words and put in text citations with it, as well as put the resources in order as I go. Doing this all that the end gets to be overwhelming for me and I do not remember where the information I got it from.

FIVE:
I'm going to approach this DB by looking at the overall organization of my paper. For me, it helps to unify my paper to tell a story. In covering all the topics Dr. Yeakey has asked us to I'm going to organize my paper with this overarching theme: Where We've Been, Where We Are and Where We Need To Go.
As I research Home Depot, I see some great HR wins as well as instances where the ball was royally dropped. I think my role as a strategic partner is to use what I find, in light of our current environment, and call leadership to action. In highlighting the good and the bad, I will provide a neutral approach that will compel the executives who read my paper to see history through an objective lens. I'll write without judgement.
I hope to be able to give both short- and mid- term recommendations so Home Depot could implement my suggestions in the next 12 months, the next 36 months and 60 months. A company with a 40 year history is like a ship turning in the ocean. It can't be as nimble as a speedboat and may take some time to change direction. That said, I'll be sure to include what's working that should be maintained. As I read about Home Depot, I'm already thinking in terms of "we."
The absolute BEST part of this class so far is that in lamenting how much I disliked the SHRM site, I've made it a point to get into it often and I'm actually getting more comfortable with the layout. As I stated, I've referenced the site often in the past when I worked exclusively in HR but it's been hit or miss. ITwo days ago, I reached out to SHRM and got a link for a membership benefits on-demand webinar. It's an hour long and I've got some more MUSES to do first but I'll let you know if I come up with anything good. Or, feel free to check it out, yourselves. I'll also share the brochure for anyone intrested. Links below.
