The American Revolution often prompted divided loyalties for women, as many women, inclusive of class and gender, had to determine which “side” they supported during the war (i.e., Loyalists, Patriots, etc.).  How did the war impact European female colonists, as well as both enslaved and free black women, and Native American women?  What challenges would the requirement to “take sides” present for women?  Include specific connections to the readings to illustrate your perspectives.
