1) Plessy v. Ferguson represented a turning point in constitutional law as did Brown v. Board of Education. Take either of these two cases and demonstrate, drawing on three specific cases, laws, constitutional amendments, or legal doctrines, how the case you choose made a historical difference in its time. In your introductory paragraph, lay out your primary argument or purpose of your essay. Draw on specific details of the three cases that explain their relevance to your argument. 2) The First Amendment is brief but substantial. Its guarantees extend to free expression and freedom of religion, one of the first ideals sought by immigrants and colonizers from Europe.
