Abstract

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and cyber security analyst are both great careers. A lot of states require APRNs to be licenced or certified with a bachelor’s degree, also, in the field of cyber security jobs getting a job as a cyber security analyst a bachelor’s degree is also required. Although, cyber security jobs do not really need a bachelor’s degree, but people can acquire cyber security certification by taking some programs online or just study towards taking the certification exam. Nurses are primary care providers at the forefront of providing preventive care services to the public. They spend days doing variety of task in making sure patients get better. On the other hand, cyber security analyst administers security technologies, solutions, and services to differentiate between malicious and normal activity. They protect systems against viruses because organization have confidential information stored on their computer networks. These two careers play an important role in our society. However, the emerging of technologies in our today’s world people can access a vast amount of information in a matter of minutes. In hospitals patient records are no longer charts in a filing cabinet, billing is done with software instead of typing. large amount of information is stored in cyberspace, and new security standards and measures has been put in place such as, Padlock -- a gateway that establishes encrypted communication between the central systems and the field devices, Watchdog, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Big Date, cyber security uses emerging technologies leveraging experience of expert leaders in the field. Overall, both careers must behave ethically in other for them to protect the privacy and right of people using their service.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Cyber Security Analyst

Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) are primary care providers with developed advanced theoretical and clinical skills. They treat and diagnose illnesses, advise the public on health issues, manage chronic disease. APRNs hold at least a master’s degree, in addition to the nursing education. According to (Vega April 12, 2020) ‘‘APRNs include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetises, and nurse midwives, and all play a pivotal role in the future of health care. APRNs are often primary care providers and are at the forefront of providing preventive care services to the public’’ (p.1). A federal license is required for all Registered Nurses (RNs). APRNs include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anaesthetists, and nurse midwives. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) can work in different sector in healthcare which includes hospitals, clinics, and offices of the physicians, and they work as a full-time employee.

Roles of an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRNs)

· Nurse Practitioners provide primary, acute, and specialty health care across the lifespan through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries. APRNs provide a full range of anesthesia and pain management services. According to (Jose 2020) ‘‘APNs may be certified to see patients without a doctor, to order diagnostic tests, to make a clinical diagnosis, and to make important medical decisions” (p.3) Advance Practice Registered Nurses record the symptoms of patients, observe the patient throughout their treatment in the hospital, prepare patient’s care plans. They operate and monitor patient’s health, give prescriptions and medications to patients, and assess the reaction of medication in a patient.

Educational Requirements

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses must complete their degree in nursing because their roles need a bachelor’s degree in the nursing field. They are required to pass the National Certification Exam and get a license to practice and work in this field. This profession requires extensive skill, knowledge, and experience. APRNs require more than five years of experience.

Salary of Advanced Registered Nurse

According to the survey in the start of the May of 2019, the median annual salary of an APRN is almost USD 115,800 dollars. It will be 55.67 dollars per hourly rate.

Outlook of Job

From the 2019 to the 2029, the total employment of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) has been expected to rise by 45% which is far faster or higher than the rest of all the careers. This development will mainly take place due to a growing focus on the preventative care and an increasing population’s demand for the services of healthcare.

Emerging Technology in Nursing Field

Technology has shown improvement in the quality of care, and it has improved the standards in hospital because the job of nurses has a lot to do with technology. Such as, medication prescriptions, mobile laboratories, electronic records, tele-health, online appointments, and schedules. Also, with the advancements in telehealth, nurses and advanced healthcare providers can provide health information and care to patients in rural settings from a distance.

Ethical Issues in Nursing Field

Nurses in the field face a lot of ethical issues which creates concern for them. If nurses do not abide to the code of ethics, they could find themselves in a legal dilemma. Nurses working with patients need to deal with different problems such as, issues in patient’s care, autonomy, and informed consent to treatment, and protecting patients right.

Cyber Security Analyst

Carry out security measures to protect a company's computer network systems, and the organization of the computer networks and servers. As the rate of cyber-attacks rises the roles and duties of security analysts are expanding continuously. Most Cyber security analyst are involved in helping organizations keep cyber threats away and safeguarding their information. However, they must stay up to date in security in other for them to protect their organizations. Most cyber security professionals spend roughly 40 hours a week in the office for full-time employment. Their services are delivered within security and compliance standards (SOX, PCI, GDPR) Cyber security Analyst job requires internal support resources and vendor system engineers as necessary to participate in problem response and root cause determination. They secure critical and sensitive data and ensure information security with relevant legislation and legal interpretation.

Job Roles of Cyber Security Analyst

Cyber security analyst document breaches of security to prepare reports and explain the loss and the damage which has been caused by breaches of data. They administer security technologies, solutions, and services to differentiate between malicious and normal activity. Cyber security job supports reasonable policies and practices to secure critical and sensitive data are not attacked by internet fraudsters. However, they ensure information security and compliance with relevant legislation and legal interpretation. They download software and use them for the encryption of the data programs like firewalls.

Educational Requirements for Cybersecurity Analyst

There are a lot of cyber security jobs that are available for individuals with a cybersecurity degree. For people to get into this field, they are required to have a bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or information technology, it could be any previous work experience in the security field, or they can get certificates as well as other programs available to get certifications in information technology. This was a 112% increase in the number of records exposed in 2018 ”(p.6). The expected demand for the security analysts is very high because they are the only source to create ways to prevent hackers from data breaches.

Emerging Technology in Cyber security.

Ethical issues in Cyber security

The ethical issues of cyber security focus on fixing the vulnerability in other for organisations and internet users to be safe from attacks or internet burglars However, they maintain the privacy and integrity of data regarding individuals by implementing proper security policies and strategies. These principles protect the use of computing technology in a way that will not cause harm to the public.
