ABSTRACT  

As the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump often spoke about the need to transform America's

infrastructure, advocating spending on such sectors as transportation and water as a way of boosting economic

growth. In the wake of his victory on Election Day, some infrastructure advocates are expressing cautious

optimism that the new administration will place renewed focus on infrastructure. Thus far, Trump's statements

regarding infrastructure have tended to be fairly broad, more in the nature of bold pronouncements than details. Of

course, how Trump's broad goals regarding infrastructure will fare in the coming months and years remains to be

seen. However, the tenor of the discussion is appreciated by those who work to raise the profile of U.S.

infrastructure. On the campaign trail, one of Trump's more concrete proposals pertaining to infrastructure was

tripling the finding of the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, notes
