Meet Dr. Keri Yang

Dr. Keri Yang is an international speaker, speaking coach, and business mentor with close to two decades of experience on live and virtual stages. She teaches her clients how
to leverage the power of their personal presence, speak with style, and use captivating stories to build an instant connection with their audience.
“With powerful body language and a strong magnetic presence, you can step into the spotlight while
staying true to your most authentic self,” says Dr. Yang.
DR. KERI YANG’S STORY Dr. Keri Yang grew up in Taiwan. Completely immersed into the Asian culture. Being a woman, Keri Yang was always silenced. Her voice did not matter. She was taught things like: keeping her head down and working very hard but never taking the credit. She never thought
anything of it because everybody else around her never questioned it. Dr. Keri Yang was a shy girl from a nice family. She excelled in school but was never fully in touch with her creative side. A side that she knew she had potential in because it would come out with family and
friends but never authority figures. She called herself a chameleon because she played different roles so she could be everything to everyone but deep down she knew there was more for her. She often found herself wondering about the other people in the world. Engaging in
questions like: What are people doing out there? What’s happening on the other side of the world? The reason her speaking career kicked off was because a teacher signed her up for a speaking competition at school since she knew Dr. Keri Yang was a good writer. On the day of
the competition, she got up on stage and completely forgot her words. Mortified and thinking the competition was over, they announced the second round. This time she was engaging the audience by being herself and it worked. She received the highest votes and that was when
the seed was planted as she calls it. Fifteen years later, she decided to give life a chance and explore her possibilities on what it would be like on the other side of the world. So she applied to the top PhD schools and got accepted into each and everyone of them. She explained that it wasn’t because she was smart, it was because she knew how to speak, how to communicate her story, values and so on… effectively. She says
that her experience taught her that even an everyday conversation can be a stage to sell yourself. Being yourself is a powerful skill that she likes to teach her clients.
But of course before all that, upon moving into the U.S she found herself with a language barrier. She gained courage and learned. After Dr. Keri Yang finished school, she went back into a corporate setting and her work hard mentality kicked in. Since she was new,
insecure, a woman and a minority she did not allow herself to speak up and would only make herself small. She started to become complacent and wear business clothing that would make her appear more “professional”. She would try to fit the mold until one day her
friend visited her and told her to check herself. The clothes that she would wear would not be her most authentic self and her speaking skills weren’t at their full potential. Since then, she improved so much that people would ask her if they could be trained by her on how to speak.
So she started her business with one idea: to help people use speaking to change the trajectory of their lives. Her clients went on to have +20% conversion rates on webinars and making five-figures a month from their speaking skills.
Business & Inspiration
“In order to make it to the “big time” in any business you need to master the art of not only instant connection with your audience, you need to master the art of
being 100% YOU.”
Dr. Keri Yang works with professionals to help them share their message in a powerful way that their audience finds interesting, engaging, and entertaining… so that by the time they present their offer in a webinar, podcast, interview, or on stage, the audience is already sold.
Her Signature Talks consist of of the perfect blend of all the things that make you engaging. It’s a sneak peak into who you really are and what you’re here to give. It’s your business, your philosophy your promise, your story, your mission and, the cherry on top, your unique personality, crafted to cut thru, create celebrity and convert window shoppers into actual customers.
I built my business with one idea: to help people use speaking to change the trajectory of their lives. Because when you have a powerful story and a solution that can help someone, you deserve a stage and an opportunity. But ultimately, you have to be the one to create that stage when opportunity knocks.
Impact of Business: empowers people to be their authentic selves whilst speaking.

Challenges ● Growing up in Taiwan, an island deeply ingrained in humble Asian culture, things were different. As a
woman, Dr. Yang was told to be quiet and not talk too loud. She was taught to just keep her head down, work really hard, never take credit and let work speak for itself. She states that she never doubted this approach, because that’s just what every women did in Taiwan.
● Dr. Yang always had trouble fitting in society, speaking her mind, and doing what she loved. “To the outside, I was a shy girl from a nice family” she stated. She excelled in school and did all the right things. But she had this fun, creative side that didn’t fit the mold. It would come out with her family and friends, but never in front of authority figures. She says she was a chameleon who played different roles so she could be everything to everyone. She also struggled with confusion with her future. She claims that she believed there was something more for her, she just didn’t know what that was.
● As an immigrant, she faced struggles with the language barrier. She states that “when I got to the U.S., I realized I needed to quickly learn the language and push myself to connect with others because they weren’t just going to come and talk to me — I was that foreign student. I had to learn how to walk into a completely different group of people and introduce myself. This is how I started getting the courage to put myself out there and learn how to build connections that would later strengthen my speaking career.”
