Benchmark Assignment - Training and Development
Coca-cola is a multinational American company. I have identified several areas that need immediate training for improvements. As training and development (T&D) is a key tool that identifies the workers’ reliability to perform effectively and efficiently this as a result increases the performance and productivity of the businesses. I have recognized numerous factors that cause discontent among employees and are imprudent as well. However, the beverage companies are more involved to the unethical deeds especially after the global financial crisis 2008, because financial institutions which brought about the crisis enhanced risks of effective leadership, racial discrimination, disturbing the long-term agreement and manipulating earnings, misrepresentation of market tests, and worker discrimination (coca-colaglobalisation). Moreover, the current global crisis (Covid-19) also created many ethical issues in the organization such as inter-department conflicts, racial discrimination, financial loss, and supply chain disruption, etc.
The most common ethical issues that Coca-cola is facing are environmental pollution, the supply of harmful products, and these issues arsis due to a lack of ethical leadership. Lack of ethical leadership encumbers its productivity. Most of the time employees are engaged in workplace politics, backbiting, and leg pulling; it leads to pessimistic organizational culture and also causes to drain the energy of highly productive employees. As a result, a lack of trust creates among employees. They do not share knowledge of information. Few employees work for their benefits rather than to accomplish organizational goals. Reality is that many are unaware of organizational goals. The organization has a diverse culture that requires ethical leadership. The pressure of top management to achieve the monthly targets also engages the leaders and workers in unethical deeds to save their jobs.
Our training programs will target all the preceding issues that are affecting our organization.
Goals for the Training
The primary purpose to initiate a training and development (T&D) program is to train and teach ethical leadership skills to all employees plus executives and leaders of the organization. Moreover, the goal of training is also to encourage knowledge sharing and information among employees as well as to stir optimistic organizational culture.
Processes and Procedures Implemented After Training
The training program will focus on answering the questions of employees, for instance, why I am taking this training program? This training program will enable the employees to get complete knowledge about organizational goals and how to achieve them. The training program will focus and stir the ethical leadership skills within the organization. To teach ethical leadership will encourage employees to create a good relationship with co-workers that are based on respect and sheer trust. Ethical leadership is very significant and it will urge integrity along with equity, honesty, compassion, fairness among the employees as well as justice that is very important to conjuring up the process to achieve success. This training program will encourage all employees to recognize the importance of following the business standards as a result they will start treating each other with respect and sincerity.
Employees would get encouraged to optimistic level and share knowledge and information after attending this training program. This training session will encourage employees to keep up and discuss their ideas in the monthly and weekly meetings without any position discrimination. This training session would provide an opportunity for all employees to participate in the decision-making process. They will feel valuable. This training session will discourage employees to take part in any pessimistic actions, for instance, backbiting, workplace politics, etc. This training program will also encourage and will make a responsible senior employees guide and teach new employees about the goals and policies of the organization without any self-interest and negligence.
If any employees would be reported to not train the new employees properly will be responsible for a misdemeanor. Thus, after this training session, one of the main employee’s responsibilities will be to train and guide the new employees without any disinclination. The senior employees will be responsible to make them aware of the goals, mission, values, objectives, and policies of the organization. Top management will not put pressure on employees to achieve the targets instead leaders and top management will inspire them through their own stories and performance. The top management will encourage and motivate their subordinates to increase productivity and performance through ethical deeds instead of putting themselves into vehement pressure which as a result abate their productivity and energy. Top management will construct a healthy and pressure-free environment as well as encourage the employees to instigate customers by providing quality products and services instead of catapulting customers to buy the products.
This training program will certainly increase the sheer trust among employees and foster the organization’s productivity. This training program will enable the employees to learn the significance of values and ethics as well as to make them work toward organizational goals rather than their own goals. The strength of human capital is that they can easily obtain stirred through ethical leadership because they are more inclined towards optimistic aspects and they just need an opportunity. However, the weakness of human capital is that they are more prone to pressure to achieve the required targets and engage themselves in unethical deeds immediately
(L & Singh, 2017).
Strategies for the Training
There will be certain strategies in the training session that will facilitate us to attain the training program goals and organizational goals. For example, perpetual motivational strategies would be employed to drive the successful results of the business. The executives and all employees will be encouraged through stories of successful leaders that how they follow ethical deeds through their careers. The trainers should have ethical skills and the ability to teach the employees. The organizational goals are to refresh the world, inspire moments of happiness and optimism, and to create a difference by providing quality products and services (colacompany, 2020). Thus, to achieve this goal the best way is to satisfy the employees so employees can work with integrity and sincerity to achieve goals of the organization. It is very important to revoke the current pressurized work environment to motivate employees. The purpose of using the preceding strategy is to increase the skills of ethical leadership in all employees.
For this purpose, the organization will support every employee practically as well as verbally. This training session will enhance self-confidence in employees and make them feel the significance of sharing knowledge and information and it will stir a positive organizational culture (Leonard, n.d.).
