TP 5: Final The complete package

Ver. 23

Assignment Overview Now that you have completed a live presentation of your full project, you are ready to make any final tweaks to your presentation slides and submit the completed file, along with an executive summary. You might want to make some changes to your presentation based on what your reviewer said, although you should make sure that you don't remove anything that is required for the project.

Requirements for TP 5: Final The final submission consists of two files: the final presentation and an executive summary. Details are given below.

Detailed Instructions

The Final Presentation Your final version of the presentation should include finalized text and graphics, correct grammar, spelling, etc. You may not have to change the presentation much or at all from what you prepared for TP 4, but this is a chance for one last edit.

If you would like one final self-review, the following questions might be helpful. If you miss something, it will probably be in one of the following areas, and if you do all of the following well, then you will probably get maximum points.

1. Is the information convincing and well organized? 2. Are all of the required pages included? 3. Is the argument summary list numbered and grammatically clear? 4. Do the arguments clearly indicate why your position is correct? 5. Do all the evidence detail pages have the correct titles and subtitles? 6. Are there at least two argument detail pages with graphical elements? 7. Does every argument detail page include at least one reference to a credible source? 8. Is the visual style interesting? 9. Is the text large enough and colored in a way to maximize legibility? 10. Does the bibliography have at least five unique sources that are formatted correctly, including the URL for

each online source? 11. Are there no spelling or grammatical errors? 12. Is there any possibility of plagiarism?

The Executive Summary This is a separate text document of between 500 and 1,500 words, describing your project in the same order as the presentation. Your executive summary should be a report using full sentences, well-formed paragraphs, etc.

Traditionally, an executive summary is used in a couple of ways: (1) To remind people who attended the presentation what the key points were, and (2) to give to a high-level executive (for whom you made the presentation in the first place) who ended up not having time to actually attend the presentation. Of course, it's never quite as good as actually being there, but the idea is, if you weren't at the presentation, what did you miss? What was important? Basically, include what's in the presentation, in abbreviated textual form.

This should be a separate word processing document with your topic, class, date and name at the top, saved as a pdf file. Since the bulk of the presentation is the evidence detail, the bulk of the executive summary should be about the evidence in the evidence detail section.

The executive summary is written as a short report, with an introduction, body and conclusion, full sentences and well-formed paragraphs. It is not just a repetition of the text on the slides. Be sure to check your word count to make sure the paper falls within the guidelines (500 to 1,500 words), not counting the header, references, etc.

All quotations, etc. in the executive summary should be properly attributed and referenced in a way that is clear. However, you don't need to repeat the entire bibliography in the word processing document since it will be in the presentation.

What do you turn in? Submit your presentation file in pdf format and your executive summary report as a separate file in pdf format . Do not submit a .zip file.
