Part 1: Sustainable Eating Community Outreach Program Proposal

This proposal is for a student-run sustainable eating program aimed for both campus students and the surrounding community. The program’s goals will be to educate students and the surrounding community members on the importance and benefits of sustainable eating for their health. The backbone of this outreach program lies on the belief that nutritious foods are always essential for healthy living and this is true to anybody, whether you are a student, a professor, or whether you come from high or low socioeconomic background. The program thus seeks to raise awareness on the importance of proper nutrition both in campus and around our surrounding community.

This proposal goes to the campus sustainability office and the community organizations which are involved in efforts to promote sustainability in our campus surrounding community. Through this program, the members of the program aim to come up with collaborative partnership with those organizations that are already involved in community-wide approaches to healthy living in the community. The members of our program will thus play the role of educating the public on the importance of healthy organic foods in their lives; and these organizations will support the efforts of the program by supplying nutritious wholesome food for the people. This approach will follow the footsteps of Temple Tiny House project, but for this case it will involve the education of the public and students on benefits of sustainable eating and sustainable diets not only to their health but also to the conservation of our environment.
