Select a topic for your Week 5 Final Argument Paper using the following steps:
· Review the Discipline Specific Resources for Rhetoric and Research.
· Click on any discipline that interests you.
· Each page has a description of the importance of rhetoric and research to degree programs and professional careers within that discipline.
· The topics for you to choose from are below the “Importance of Rhetoric and Research” paragraph. Each topic has a link to an associated resource from the University Library to learn more about the topic.

Does replacing human work force with robots yield more than the reverse? |
· Why is this topic appropriate for an argument paper?

The employment rate in a nation determines the growth rate and country’s development. Replacement of human workforce with autonomous and semi-autonomous systems cause a major imbalance in human-machine economy contribution. This imbalance result to other issues that compromise the expected advantage of autonomy systems |

My position is that replacing of human workforce with autonomous systems significantly affects the country’s economy both positively and negatively. The negative effects carry more weight that the anticipated positives. Therefore, there should exist skillful balance between human workforce and autonomous systems. |
2. What are three reasons why you have this position about this topic? (25-50 words total)

a. The world has focused so much on technological inventions forgetting their people. b. The technology that is growing so fast is threatening human workforce despite making life easier. c. Crimes rates are directly related to the rate of unemployment which is a threat posed by robots. |
3. Do you believe research will support your reasons for this position? What will you do if you cannot locate research to support your reasons for your position? (25-50 words total)

Materials and resources are available concerning the effect of robots to the employment scheme. They have been viewed as threat to human workforce. Some researchers have examined the relationship between crime and unemployment. If enough information cannot be accessed concerning the reasons, the topic might be reviewed. |

Create a rough draft of your thesis statement using your position and reasons for your position. Your thesis statement will serve as the claim in your argument.

Autonomous systems which are robots have brought a major change a has made the world to change its forecast on key issues and focus on the systems. This is due to their perceived benefits. With the rapid growth in technology, robots have been developed everywhere. They have gradually taken over with research citing that by 2020, 47% of American job market will be run by robots. On the other hand, robots result to unemployment. With increased unemployment, scholars have linked this to crime rate. Robots are gradually causing significant displacement of human workforce. |

Arguments can be easily misunderstood and misinterpreted. There may be times when we do not fully evaluate arguments before forming our response to them, and our response may have been different if we fully understood what was being argued. Argument evaluation is important in everyday life to help you communicate effectively with others and to form your own arguments.

Robots are not expected to cause a significant change in the job market. The author claims that the impact of robots in the industry will be gradually felt as the time moves. He describes the process as evolutionary rather than revolutionary. There are also claims from the author citing that the displacement that will be caused by the robot will only affect the less skilled workers and semi-skilled workers. |

In the authors claim, there have been cited evidence from States leader designating robotics for fast economic growth. Also, the author cites moves by country leaders to research on the possible implications of robots in the job market. |
