White Paper Assertion & Outline

As a group you will develop a White Paper Assertion based on the topic your group selected.

An  Assertion is a stylistic approach or technique involving a strong declaration, a forceful or confident and positive statement regarding a belief or an fact. Often, it is without a proof or any support.

There is no designated format for the White Paper Outline. Your group will submit one outline for the entire group based on the groups White Paper Topic. Each member of the team will write on a subcategory of the main topic, ensuring that you address how it supports the overarching theme.

Keep in mind the White Paper must include the following: 1. Introduction/Summary 2. History/Background and Context 3. Problem (Defined) 4. Discussion to relate point of view from sources used 5. Writer takes a position 6. Solution/s 7. Conclusion. The individual paper will be combined with the other group member’s papers to form a comprehensive discussion and recommended solution to the contemporary issue facing the Army and nation.  The paper should have clear transitions between each topic. Collaboration within the group during the individual writing process is key to ensure differing perspectives are adequately discussed. This group paper forms the foundation of the group brief

Introduction:  Robots on the battlefield are a valuable and significant combat multiplier. The distrust and paranoia the populace has for robots is based on misrepresentation, distortion of the facts, and science fiction movies. Throughout history and beyond robots have provided an influential tool to commanders at all levels. Offensive and defensive operations include an intricate role for robots contributing to unified land operations. In the service and support role, robots are exponentially increasing Soldier’s survivability and productivity in the medical and logistical world.
