I. Introduction: Employee Motivation Strategies

Motivation refers to an internally created force to pursue a particular course of action. Therefore Employee Motivation Strategies refers to the ways that an organization should internally create that are meant to satisfy the needs of its employees for the purpose of fostering their morale towards work.

1. What is the importance of Employee Motivating Strategies?

The Employee Motivation Strategies helps the organization’s management to create a good relationship with their employees by making them feel that they are taking their concerns into consideration. It further helps the organization to retain and maintain the high performing employees for the purpose of increasing the organizations’ productivity.

2. What are the different types of motivational sources?

a) Intrinsic sources

b) Extrinsic sources

II. Body

1. What are the different types of motivational theories?

Motivational theories are statements that have been put forward to explain the concept of motivation in our business environments. Some of these theories include instrumentality theory, the content theory of motivation, Maslow's need hierarchy theory, Herzberg’s two-factor motivation theory, process theory, expectancy theory, goal theory, and equity theory.

2. How do these theories help to bring out the concept of employee motivation strategies?

The theories help the business managers to understand different perceptions of different employees on what they thing motivation is. Some may be having assumptions that motivation is directly proportional to money for instance but on the other hand, there may be those employees who have a total different perception of what motivation is. Some theories might for example attribute motivation to promotions, recognition and even salary increments (Alalade, & Oguntodu, 2015).

3. What are some of the different types of motivational strategies?

According to my research, I have come up with at least five strategies that will be the backbone of many exclusive motivation ways an organization should adopt for it to maintain its employees. These strategies include; fun strategy, rewards strategy, reputation strategy, challenge strategy and purpose strategy.

III. Conclusion

In conclusion, the various strategies that can be adopted by organization with the aim of increasing the employees’ performance which will aid in improving the productivity of an organization have also been discussed. If well adhered to, the conflicts that normally do exist between employees and management in organizations will be a thing of the past.
