TOPIC 4: FINAL REFLECTIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT (ON THE CREATIVE MINDS PROJECT)

To finish up the creativity project, here’s a short writing assignment.

ASSIGNMENT:

In the first part of your essay, discuss the ways creativity is defined in the readings “The Creative Animal” (Jerome, 2018) and “Learning from Leonardo”(Isaacson, 2017, para. 1-4 deal with definitions of creativity) and what you agree with and/or disagree with regarding these definitions of creativity. Make your own judgement about how many paraphrases or quotations are necessary to support your response. Then, transition to a discussion of your own experience creating the Eng. 209 project .

Thinking about the creative qualities that were mentioned in the article “Learning from Leonardo”, for example, “be curious”; “observe”; “start with details”; “think visually”; “let ‘the perfect’ be the enemy of the ‘good’” (or any of the many others), write about your experience creating the Eng. 209 project. Write about the creative qualities you used in doing your project, and how they added value to the outcome, and also any that you discovered you’d like to develop a bit more. Finish up by expressing what you enjoyed doing, and why.

GUIDELINES

USE OF SOURCES: In the first part of your essay, paraphrase and quote from “The Creative Animal” and “Learning from Leonardo”. In the second part you do not need to use sources unless you choose to.
