  Tolerance of Change Scale This measurement instrument is formally known as the "tolerance of ambiguity" scale. Although it was developed 40 years ago, the instrument is still used today in research. People with a high tolerance of ambiguity are comfortable with uncertainty, sudden change, and new situations-characteristics of the hyperfast changes occurring in many organizations today.
