Tips for Final Exam of Stats 200, Summer 2016
1. Just list T or F. Do not justify answers.
2. Select i thru iv for each. See Illowsky for Key Terms, Sampling, & Levels Of Measurement (Section 1.3). Do not justify your selection.
3. Complete table for Frequency & Relative, %, Frequency. Some values are given.
4. Given the 5 number system for two Quizzes, answer questions about which has largest value and range.
5. Similar to Question 7 of Quiz 1. P(A&B) = P(A)P(B) or P(A)P(B|A). Depending on replacement or no-replacement.
6. Compute the “complement” of P(AorB). See Section 3.1 of Illowsky.
7. Successful outcomes/Total outcomes. Determine “Dependency” as in Section 3.3-The Multiplication Rule of Illowsky.
8. See Combinations and Permutations in Videos-Topics In Stat 200.
9. Given 5 values each for x & P(x), find the mean and variance of x.
10. Find P(X≥k) for a binomial distribution. Define n,p,k needed to use the Binomial Tables. Do not use EXCEL. Be careful to define “p” properly for growing successfully. Also, P(x≥k) =1-P(x≤(k-1)).
11. Find 80% percentile for normal distribution given μ & σ.
12. Compute the std dev for the sample mean given the population std dev. Find probability that the sample mean is > N1 and < N2.
13. Construct 95% CI for population proportion. See 8.3 in Illowsky.
14. Construct 90% CI for population mean. See 8.1 in Illowsky.
15. Hypothesis Test for Single Sample - Proportion. See Videos and see Example 9.17 in Illowsky. Do not use EXCEL to get p-value. Show how p-value is obtained.
16. Hypothesis Test for Mean –Two Sample (Paired). See 10.4 in Illowsky and Dependent (Paired) Samples in Videos. Do not use EXCEL to get p-value. Compare t(test) with t(crit).
17. Section 11.6 in Illowsky (Test of a Single Variance). Compare a sample of n with an expected value.
18. Use Chi-Square analysis for Goodness of Fit. Section 11.2 in Illowsky and Videos for Examples. Determine critical value and compare with test value as in Quiz 3.
19. Linear Regression as in Videos. Do not use canned program to determine best fit equation. Compute values as in the Videos on Linear Regression.
20. a) Complete the Table; b) Compute F(test) from MSE & MST c) Show how to determine p-value or F(CRIT); d) Reject Ho?
