Tips for current events

● When searching for news, you will have better results if you choose an issue and/or location than just searching for “environmental news”. You might try something like “Florida climate change” or “Syria drought” (location + issue). Choose any issue from the course that interests you - look through your textbook

● I’ve provided a list of some news sources for scientific environmental news for those of you who need help finding websites. Feel free to use any of these or get ideas from this list. The list is organized alphabetically - just did some googling, I am not necessarily promoting any of these.

● For finding a good news source: Avoid politizing your scientific research. Specifically, avoid very left or very far right sources, especially when you are trying to read about science. The best sources for moderate and accurate news are near the middle and higher up in this graphic. The sources further to the left and right are not necessarily “bad” just tend to promote an agenda and not represent the most accurate information.This is in no way exhaustive and not required that you use these - just trying to help with choosing good sources.
