Housekeeping tips:  

· We are aware there is an issue with downloading the Ackley article that is required for the week 3 written assignment.

· Discussion- Bias and Stereotyping - 30 point value- you will use your textbook/required readings and address the following questions:    

· Explain the difference between gang membership in El Salvador and the United States  

· What are the cultural factors that are important to consider when you are planning nursing care for a patient like Jose? For example, how do you view body tattoos?  

· What are the issues related to political asylum, immigration and the like?  

· How would you assist Jose to meet his developmental needs?  

· What might be the problems he will encounter in the United States society?  

· What might be the problems he will encounter in the United States healthcare system?      

. Original post must include 2 references- 1 peer reviewed AND 1 course material and must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph  

. Response posts must include 1 reference- 1 peer reviewed OR 1 course material
