The patients who are scheduled for admission by doctors first go through the admissions unit where they are processed; given a patient number and assigned a bed in a particular ward. The patients are either admitted into the surgery wards where they await surgery. After surgery they are either moved to the intensive care unit or directly to the Med/Surg wards depending on their condition. Some other patients are directly admitted to the intensive care unit until they are stable enough either to undergo surgery or be moved to the Med/Surg ward. The patients in the Med/Surg wards receive treatment and are closely monitored before discharge. Those who might require additional medicine will receive it at the inpatient pharmacy. The patients pay for their services with the claims representative.

There are a number of people entrusted in ensuring that the whole process that an inpatient goes through is successful. One of them is the admissions doctors; these doctors are the ones who after examination of the patient direct the nurses to process the patient for admission. The ICU doctors and nurses are the ones in charge of the patients in the unit to make sure that they get to a stable state to receive other treatments. The surgeons and their nursing staff carry out the operations on patients. The nurses and clinical officers keep tract of the rehabilitation process of patients; making sure the patients are well fed and they have medicine administered. The pharmacist gives medicine to those patients who have been discharged but are required to continue with medication. The discharge staff are the ones who are entitled with the examination of admitted patients and discharging those that have recovered enough. Financial services receives and manages the money received from patients after they have been discharged and submit claims to insurance companies.

The units meet the needs of the patients as they are able to be admitted if there is need, they are able to receive intensive care and surgery when necessary and they are able to receive the necessary care in the recovery process.
The admissions unit makes sure that the patients who require admission are properly examined and that they are processed for admission in time. The ICU makes sure that those patients who are in critical state receive the best care to enable recovery. The surgery unit makes sure that those patients who require operation services receive them. The rehabilitation unit makes sure that the admitted patients receive the best care and treatment to aid and fasten the recovery process. The discharge unit makes sure that patients are well examined and approved for discharge. The unit also recommends medicine for discharged patients if necessary. The pharmacy unit makes sure that the recommended medicine is available and is given to the patients with the proper prescription. The cashier unit makes sure that services are paid for and that the money is well managed.

The patients will be received and registered in the receptionist where they will receive a card that will allow them to proceed to the clinical practice. At the clinical practice they will be attended to be a doctor who will examine them; signs and symptoms. Then the doctor will either decide to direct the patient to the laboratory for further test of recommend medication. The patients sent to the lab will then return to the doctor and will be redirected to the pharmacy depending on the test results. At the pharmacy, patients will receive drugs and necessary prescriptions. The drugs and other services will be paid at the cashier’s desk. The card given to the patient by the receptionist will guide the cashier as it will have all the details about the patient throughout the process.

The units meet the needs of the patients as they make treatment procedure easy for them.
The personnel who will be involved in the outpatient services will include the receptionist who will receive the patients and process them for treatment. The doctors and nurses who will examine patients and recommend medication. The lab personnel who will be involved in additional diagnosis of the patients. The pharmacist who will be in charge of giving the recommended medicine as per prescription and the cashier who is to correct and manage payment received from patients and to process the claim to their insurance company.
Outpatient Services is very important in; ensuring that the patients are received properly and processed for treatment, ensuring that patients receive proper treatment from the doctors and nurses, the lab ensures that a proper diagnosis is done on the patient, the pharmacist ensures that patients receive medicine with proper prescription and the accountant ensures that money/insurance is received from patients and that it is well managed.
The chosen units meets the needs of the needs of healthcare consumers in that the patients receive proper reception, treatment and they are able to receive drugs with the correct prescriptions.

Utilizes visible light to image internal organs.
Needs experienced and trained personnel.
Supports other departments, through provision and interpretation of images.
An example of an examination is, Mammography.
The imaging department has to corporate with the physicians, cannot function on its own
Diagnostic imaging enables physicians to look for clues of medical conditions that the patients may be suffering from. Different technologies and machines are used for the services. The machine used depends on the signs and symptoms that a person has. Use of diagnostic imaging is paramount confirming and correctly assessing causes of diseases and responses to treatment.

2. Pharmacy Services
The pharmacy offers a number of services;
Prescribing medication.
Interpreting laboratory tests.
Administering medication.
Demonstrating appropriate use of medication.
Extending prescriptions.
Substituting medicine in event of inventory shortage (Wolters, 2016).
Pharmacy services are very important in a healthcare institution. The pharmacy is instrumental in helping the physician with the handling and issuing of prescribed medication. There are also other many services that the pharmacy offers to both the inpatient and outpatient.

Big Data and Analytical tools.

With an increasing burden of different diseases such as; Non Communicable diseases, there are new advancements in the diagnostic imaging. This is in order to be able to find new ways of finding out about the diseases in order to better the treatment. The above trends are advancements that have occurred with time, and they are very helpful for physicians in diagnoses.

Trends in pharmacy services include;
Continued growth of specialty market.
Expansion of pharmacogenomics.
Use of big data.
Customer-centric personalization.
E-patient growth.
Coordinated healthcare networks (Naggapa & Mateti, 2014).
Gone are days when pharmacies were dull with long queues. New discoveries and technologies have improved with time making pharmacy services fast and of high quality. For instance; e-patient growth, whereby, the patient does not have to appear to the pharmacy physically but can still get the services they want.

Ancillary Services and Revenue-boosting
The different trends in the diagnostic imaging attracts clients.
Use of new technology attracts more clients including other healthcare facilities.
Having experienced personnel brings more customers.
All the above, has to be achieved, with good marketing (Shah & Kollaikal, 2016).
Outsourcing drug replacement benefits program.
Reducing steps of prescription to the pharmacy.
Regulations and market changes.
Dispensing transactions and informatics.
Stocking medication based on needs.
Reduce medication denials and underpayments (Naggapa & Mateti, 2014).
Hospitals are businesses like any other business, therefore, all activities carried out are aimed at bringing in more revenue. It is important to up the game in diagnostic imaging in order to attract more clientele who bring in more revenue. There are usually some errors which are made in the pharmacy departments which lead to loss of revenue. For example; offering the wrong medication. These errors can be reduced in order to avoid loosing so much revenue. Other measures can also be put in place to ensure that more revenue is tapped into the business.
