PLEASE RESPOND TO TIFFANY POST BELOW
Describe the steps of a generic feedback cycle.
Make the feedback steps specific to consulting and explain your revisions.
1.) Find and develop information related to the organization’s problem.
2.) Schedule a time to meet with the client to provide a verbal information and data.
3.) Outline the structure of the meeting.
4.) Restate the agreed contract.
5.) Create a picture.
6.) Provide a written report about the overall situation and specific steps that outline the implementation process.
7.) Get client reactions by asking questions.
8.) Check for concerns, commitment, and control from the client during presentation and questioning.
9.) Provide a formal presentation about the problem, how the problem is managed, and effective recommendations to key stakeholders.
10.) See if the client received all he or she wanted and provide support.
These ten (10) feedback steps will allow me as a consultant to give effective feedback as well as receive effective feedback from the client. According to Block (2011), if a consultant, create a clear picture for the client, the consultant is able to help focus the client on what is important during the feedback process.
List and describe at least three measures of quality feedback. Provide your rationale for selecting these measures.
1.) Be assertive= by being clear and direct of what you observed without putting others down.
2.) Be authentic= by describing the information clearly and simply.
3.) Be a witness= by providing a clear and specific picture of the information received.
The reason I selected these three is that each represents the measure of quality feedback that will increase the client’s commitment, motivation, and interest and decrease the client’s resistance.
Describe a few strategies for dealing with resistance to feedback.
1.) Identify the resistance.
2.) Listen by letting the client response.
3.) Support the client.
4.) Do not take the resistance personally.
5.) Be authentic.
6.) Use simple and short responses.
