Module 02 Project – Outline

The item in the module 01 project discusses the topic of Public Health. In the introduction of the case based on the previous work, public health is the health of the general population that is often subject to regulations and support from the government (Lee, 2017). Public health is considered a branch of medicine that targets issues to do with hygiene, disease prevention, and epidemiology (Lee, 2017). I chose to explore this topic because it is a health care practitioner, and achieving the objectives of public health is working along towards achieving my career goals.

Furthermore, exploring this topic is essential toward prolonging the lives of the community by promoting health. Achieving community health is through working towards stopping the spread of diseases through early detection and improving the community's general welfare. Therefore, in this work, the item explores how using Technology has improved healthcare delivery and information management in public health. Also, the work explores challenges, risks, and opportunities in implementing Technology in public health services provision.

Explanation and Analysis on how Technology is improving Healthcare Delivery and Information Management in Public Health

Using Technology has given the health care practitioners in the public health sector towards improving the services' delivery. Technology has aided the transformation of public healthcare by reducing human errors (Dolley, 2018). Also, Technology has presented an opportunity for improving the clinical outcomes in ensuring the safety and quality of public health services. The process of tracking data in public health is much easier now through Technology, helping in the process of improving efficiency (Dolley, 2018). Access to health information is also improving through the use of Technology. Technology is essential for public health officers in making intervention decisions.

Challenges and Risks of Using Technology in Public Health

Technologies have presented a lot of opportunities in improving the delivery of public health. However it has also shown some challenges like increased malpractices claims; using Technology has made some public interventions easier, but a small mistake or errors in using the technological tools leads to malpractices. Using Technology in public health interventions sometimes provides tools that are not user-friendly, especially to the community's old age members. The use of interoperability in identification is a game-changer in patient identification. However, this has presented a challenge of mismatch and improper identification of patients.

Opportunities in Implementing Technology in Public Health

Basing on the success and challenges the use of Technology has present in public health interventions, there are still opportunities to utilize in ensuring effective and efficient use of technologies. Some of the possibilities include; clarifying the main problems the Technology targets to tackle, considering all available technological options. Ensure that public health officers use the most appropriate one in implement the interventions. Using the community's specialized tools accessible and affordable is because the public health interventions are supposed to improve their welfare. Therefore, the services should be reasonable if not free and also accessible.
