Threats to Global Environment
Four Most Critical Threats to Global Environment
Threats to Global Environment
The four threats to the global environment that I choose in this discussions are:
Climate change
Energy sources
Civil war
Inappropriate uses of technology
As compared to the rest of the threats, the above mentioned are the most pressing and needs immediate attention.
This is because these threats have a direct impact to the global environment in the short term.
The other four threats have minimal impacts to the global environment that can only be experienced in the long run. The four main threats are discussed in order of their impacts on the global environment.

Threats to Global Environment
Climate change
Climate change is the leading threat to the global environment.
The increase in global warming has had effects on the environment such as the oceans and seas.
Global warming has been caused by humans activities such as destructions of forests (Springmann, et al., 2016)
Leading economies are in the frontline advocating for the issue of climate change and actions that should be taken.
Survey carried out in 26 countries around the world showed that climate change is the number one problem that is facing the environment.
The study showed that climate change is been experienced in every part of the world.
The united nations is using the data from the survey to advocate and create immediate solutions to the issue of climate change in areas that are mostly affected. Priority is given to such countries that are mostly affected by the issue of global warming.
4
Climate change
According to the survey data obtained from the 26 countries, there are several countries that are most affected.
These include countries such as Greece, France, Mexico, Japan, Brazil, Kenya and German.
All the named countries have a percentage effects of over 70 percent that climate change is a major threat to them.
The united states influence has been named as a threat to the climate change since President Trump refused to participate in climate change talks (Springmann, et al., 2016)
The countries are facing hot temperatures than usual, more so during the day time as experienced recently in Europe.
the survey provided crucial information to the united nations that can be used to act and solve the issue of global warming especially for the most affected nations. President Trump refusal to participate in the climate changes talks is a big blow to resolving the issue of global warming.
5
Climate change
Climate is the biggest drive of human populations dynamics and therefore changes will become unsuitable for human survival.
Climate change will lead to reductions of the productions of food and water provisions.
This will affects aspects such as health, nutrition of the human populations leading to diseases and poor health.
Each person is susceptible to the health impacts of climate change but some groups such as the poor are mainly affected.
Excess exposure to heat causes heat stroke together with dehydrations.
Therefore, humans survival is endangered with the climate change and causes various effects.
The exposure of people to high levels of heat will results to many effects such heat stroke which might cause deaths. The united nation will use the details of studies to put more focus on areas that have high levels of heat.

The pictures above shows the mapping of effects of climate change around the world. The photo in the center shows the results of climate change to the environment which include wild fires, drought and cyclones.
7
Threats to the global Environment
Energy sources
Energy sources such as fossil fuels which include coal, oil, and natural gas releases poisonous gases to the environment.
The gases and waste materials from these energies usually pollutes the air and also water (Crutzen, et al., 2016).
The energy industry is a major contributor to the global environment pollutions which has resulted to climate change and global warming.
These sources of energies are altering the ozone layer through its increase production of greenhouses gasses.
The assessment of the problem of gases emitted by energy sources shows that there is increased effects of global warming.
The united nations has produced a list of countries that are the leading producers of greenhouse gases and waste materials that are causing pollutions. These include China and the united states.
8
Energy sources
The most affected countries by the pollutions caused by the fossils fuels energy sources include:
Equatorial Guinea, Estonia, Singapore, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
The united states is in the least below this countries which consumes more than 10 tons of fossils fuels of every person.
China and united states, however, are the leading use of fossil fuels which involves the burning of coals energy.
United states is the leading consumer of petroleum and natural gas in the world in both transportation and in manufacturing.
The united nations have cautioned the leading consumer of fossils fuels to start investing in green energy. This is an effort to reduce the levels of greenhouses and waste products caused by burning fossils fuels.
9
Energy sources
Energy sources such as fossils fuels have many impacts to the global environment.
The carbon dioxide that is emitted from the gases contribute largely to harmful global warming effects.
Gases produced by the fossil fuels include nitrogen oxides that normally cause acidic rain.
Acidic rain is poisonous to the plants and this affects the productions of food and also water for human consumptions (Crutzen, et al., 2016).
The waste products from the fossils fuels also pollutes the water bodies affecting the aquatic animals.
These pollutants released by the fossils fuels causes many health problems to people that can results to death.
The united nations has released a list of harmful effects that are as a result of the gases and waste materials produced by the burning of fossils fuels. This include adverse health problems to people and the effects to the aquatic life.

Energy sources.
The above photos show the effects of burning fossils to produce energies. The photo in the center shows the mapping of the counties that produce the most greenhouse gasses due to the increased used of fossil fuels.
11
Threats to the Global Environment
Civil war
Civil usually has several effects on the environment whenever they occur.
Civil wars can also result to the increased disasters and disease outbreaks in such nations (Vengosh, Mitch, & McKenzie, 2017).
The prevention and control of the start of civil is crucial in the prevention to the destruction of the environment.
The production of food and its shipment is adversely affected by civil since people cannot grow cops during a war.
Insecurity due to civil war causes people not to care or pay concern to the environment and this destroys it.
The united nation is always in the frontline to manage and control civil wars whenever they break out as they causes starvation and hunger. This is due to the destruction of the environment and grown food.
12
Civil war
The countries that are mostly affected by the issue of civil war include Somalia, DRC Congo and Syria.
In DRC Congo, for example, there has being the outbreak of epidemics such as Ebola.
This has been largely due to the civil war that has been witnessed and going on in the country for many years now.
The plantations in the country have being burned down causing increased global warming and pollution of the air and also water sources.
The countries have experienced starvation with many people fleeing the counties to such for food and clean water.
The united nations has been sending help in form of food and clean water in such countries. also, due to the outbreak of the diseases, the united nations has send team of health experts to provide medications to the people.
13
Civil war
Civil war causes many effects to the world populations such as diseases and destruction of vegetation.
There is adverse destruction of forests during civil war, the interference of waterways and wasting of resources
People cannot grow food during wars and this leads to food shortage and starvation (Vengosh, Mitch, & McKenzie, 2017).
Outbreak of diseases due to reduced sanitations causes death to many people due to difficulties in receiving medications.
The environment is adversely affected due to pollutions of air and water resources and this affects the health of populations.
The united nations have established plans of helping people who are affected by civil war to get help such as food and medical aids. This is largely due to the commonness of outbreak of diseases and starvation in such countries.
14
Civil war
The above photos show the adverse effects of civil war on the global environment and the people living in such areas. Civil war brings about the destruction of the environment such as burning of forests and interference with the water catchment areas.
15
Threat to the global environment
Globalization
Globalization has increased the consumption of the available resources that puts pressure to the environment.
The increased consumption had led to the augmented production of food to keep up.
Increased trade around the world in produced goods in the farms has also put stress on the environment.
Globalization increases the economic activities which in turn deplete the available resources in the environment.
This will lead to its destructions to the pressure to keep up with the high demand of goods.
To some extent, globalization has put too much pressure to the environment for the production of food and other resources to keep up with the increased trading activities. The united nations urges people to practice trades that does not affect the environmental resources such as vegetation.
16
Globalization
Many of the affected counties by Globalization are the developing counties such china, India and several African countries (Coady, et al., 2017).
The economies of the countries have greatly increased through Globalization which has put stress to their environments.
Through increased Globalization, there has been increased pollutions in water and air (Ramsfield, et al., 2016)
This in turn has led to climate change since it adversely affect the environment and its natural balance.
Increased mining and production of waste products by the manufacturing counties has affected environment negatively.
The effects of Globalization has greatly been felt by many of the developing counties since it stresses the environment to cope with the increased trading completion of natural resources. The united nation is calling on counties to educe the trading of resources that destroys the environment.
17
Globalization
Globalization has affected humanity in many ways ranging from depleted environment to global warming.
Due to the increased Globalization, industries have been built in areas where there were forests and other natural resources important for humanity.
this forests ae destroyed for the construction o mining and affects the climate of that area (Coady, et al., 2017).
This typically leads to climate change and global warming affecting food production to sustain humanity.
Thus, people starve due to lack of food and also die due to increased temperature owing to global warming.
Globalization has had many effects to world populations such as starvation, drought and increased levels of greenhouses gases in the environment. This has led to climate change and global warming.
18
Threats to the global environment.
In conclusion, the above discussed threats to global environment have caused many effects to the world populations.
It has led to change in climate resulting to global warming
It has also led to increased pressures to the environment to produce resources to sustain global trading.
There is outbreaks of epidermis and destruction of the environment due to civil wars (Ramsfield, et al., 2016)
.
Finally, burning of fossils fuels has led to increased concentrations of greenhouse gasses which has resulted to global warming and change of climate.
It has also led to increased water and air pollution affecting peoples health.
