1. I would make sure they worked in safest environment possible and that all employees have had the vaccine.
2. I would pay them a salary worthy of them taking the chance to work for my company and a salary and benefits to be able to take care of their needs.
3. I would show them respect and appreciation for their willingness to work for my company, instead of working somewhere else.
4. I would let them I also value their opinions and would appreciate any input that will better help the workplace and the business.
5. I would let them know as long as they are willing to do the work they would have a job.
SECOND CLASSMATE POST:

In watching the video, I learned that since June 2020, 49% of businesses said they could not find people to fulfill their employer needs. I also learned that the minimum wage has gone up 3.6% since June 2020. If I were a manager, one of the first things I would do to help fix the labor shortage would be to advertise using social media. It's a digital world now and jobseekers are connected more than ever digitally. Social media ads on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can be incredibly effective at targeting the right people at the right time. The second thing I would do is network with people that could help my business. Instead of simply reaching out to friends and friends of my friends, I would tap into the resources that my partners, suppliers, and vendors have. The third thing I would do to help with the labor shortage would be to hire more interns. To ensure work, some companies offer internship guarantees to be hired after graduation. The fourth thing I would do as a manger to help the labor shortage would be to offer competitive wages. People want to be able to take care of their families and not work two the three jobs to do so. The last thing I would do as a manager to help the labor shortage would be to make sure the employees feel like they are part of family by giving them a chance to share their opinions and have a say so in some areas of the business. I think that would create loyalty.
