Thesis Statement for the literary analysis essay on Sula

Toni Morrison’s novel Sula uses the theme of betrayal in many instances. First, it is a joke on beginning of Bottom, which is a black neighborhood. Another betrayal, black veterans of World War I gets terrible treatment, and left to deal with drug addiction and they suffer post-traumatic stress disorder with no support from the military. Another common betrayal in Sula is that of husbands to their wives. Jude betrays his wife Nel and sleeps with her best friend Sula.

Hi Raciel - These are all good examples of betrayal but first, you MUST proofread for grammar and spelling. - Second, go a little further - that is, what is Morrison's point about betrayal? - Why so many betrayals in one book? Though I cannot make out the grammar of the sentence, I very much like your use of the word "joke. " Why/ how is it a joke? Is that joke thematic for the whole novel in some way? -- You may want to visit your on-campus tutoring center (ask at your campus library), or you can go to the online-tutoring ctr:
