Perception About Failure

Kevin Kelly, a Senior Maverick, Wired author, explains in black and out what failure means. According to his article, failure is part of life and should be embraced rather than ridiculed. The theory behind failure is associated with science in which any aspect of life can be affected. Notably, science is all about learning new things and at the same time being ready for failure (Kelly, n.d). As much as people fear failure and do not want to associate with it in any way, the invention of science came to reduce mishaps and failure and encourage people not to fear failure as it paves the path to success in the future, by limiting adverse outcomes.

I can closely relate with the statement that claims failure is a weakness that prohibits second chances. In the society where I come from, people tend to please the community, such as getting married, having children at a certain age, making money, and being rich. If by any chance, you do not acquire such privileges as your peers, people tend to view you as a failure. I am scared of failure. I am the kind of person who adores success, and when I put hard work and determination into something, I don't always expect anything other than success. I have undergone a series of failures in my life that have left me feeling unworthy before people. For instance, when I see all my peers doing well in a project we all started yet am stagnant, I always feel like I don't deserve to keep on trying since I won't make it nevertheless.

People should learn to accept failure and understand that it is noble and that things will change. Like Kelly Kevin states, we should not fear it but rather view it as a stepping stone for greatness.
